What I Do
Josh founded Linchpin Advisory to help mission-driven organizations solve the gap between intention and execution. Most nonprofits know what they need to do. The challenge is building the capacity to actually do it. Josh works with organizations across three areas:
Development & Fundraising
Design campaigns across the donor lifecycle—annual giving, major gifts ($5K-$50K+), capital campaigns ($50K-$100K+), and end-of-year strategies. Build donor pipelines through cultivation, stewardship, and recognition programs that leverage meaningful touchpoints with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and state/government funders.
Strategic Planning
Conduct Needs Assessments, develop multi-year fundraising strategies, and create board development frameworks. Guide organizations through revenue diversification, including foundation grants, corporate partnerships (Community Reinvestment Act), and constituent engagement.
Operations & Management
Provide interim executive leadership, recruit board members as fundraisers and friendraisers, and build organizational infrastructure—grant lifecycles (Letter of Intent through reporting), CRM systems, and deliverables (impact reports, newsletters) that demonstrate results.
The approach is straightforward: meet organizations where they are, not where they wish they were. Build infrastructure that functions independently. Create sustainable growth, not consultant dependency. Whether launching pilot programs, cultivating donor pipelines, or recruiting boards that actually contribute—Josh focuses on solutions that outlast the engagement. He's raised over $1M for programs, navigated complex stakeholder partnerships, and built systems from concept to impact. He knows what it takes to translate mission into measurable results.
Sustainable impact requires sustainable infrastructure. Josh builds capacity, not dependency.
Josh is the creator and chief architect of the nonprofit Pivot Adventure, which provides resiliency training courses for teens (and their families) struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicide ideation.
Josh started this nonprofit to make a dent in the teen mental health industry, where access and costs have gotten out of hand. Josh raised over a million dollars without a marketing budget to help over a thousand teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, and suicide ideation participate in a Resiliency Training Course, which he designed. Graduates from this 8-week course reported improvements in connectedness, happiness, perseverance, optimism, and engagement. In addition, Josh has run many workshops for thousands of teens in residential treatment programs, adults in rehab, and multiple school district leadership teams to help change their narrative about themselves and how they see the world.
